Bret Gilliland - MWC

• 27 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, 23 at the conference level.

• Member of the original staff that launched the MWC in 1999.

• Oversees all aspects of the Conference's football operations.

• Instrumental in the MWC's leadership position in football officiating and instant replay matters, including the league's involvement with the innovations as part of College Football Officiating, LLC.

• Intimately involved with MWC’s bowl relationships and BCS initiatives.

• Directs MWC's sportsmanship and competition environment activities; adjudicates disciplinary cases.

• BCS Standings/Selections Subcommittee (2009-present).

• NCAA Division I Football Issues Committee (2003-07).

• Collegiate Commissioners Association Subcommittee on the Standardization of the Administration of Instant Replay (2007).

• Past President & Current Board of Directors – Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame.

• Past Chair of the NCAA Honors Committee.

• Assistant/Associate/Senior Associate Commissioner -- Midwestern Collegiate Conference (1986-99).

• Assistant Sports Information Director – Kansas State University (1985-86).

• The Sports Management Executive Program – North Carolina, Notre Dame, USC (1992).

• B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication – Iowa State University (1984).
