Halpin
- NCAA
Ty Halpin is currently the NCAA’s liaison to the
Football Rules Committee and College Football Officiating, LLC (CFO). Halpin has
worked at the NCAA for 11 years, steadily gaining responsibility through his
career. In his role at the NCAA, Halpin manages the rules change process,
communicates directives frequently with conference representatives, coordinators
of officials and head coaches and heads all educational efforts relating to
football playing rules.In addition to
football, Halpin also serves the 1,600 institution organization as the liaison
for men’s basketball, men’s lacrosse, baseball and ice hockey. Halpin also
manages a staff of more than 25 outside contractors who serve the NCAA as
secretary-rules editors, national coordinators of officials and officiating
evaluators.
A native of Brockport, New York, Halpin
attended the University of Kentucky and graduated in 1996 with a bachelor’s
degree in journalism. In 2005, Halpin earned a master’s degree in athletics
administration from California University of Pennsylvania.
