Gary started officiating in 1977 at the high school
level in Arizona. He moved back to San Luis Obispo, Calif. in 1984
where he continued high school officiating and started NCAA in 1985.
He joined the Division 2 Western Football Conference in 1988 and
Division 1-AA in 1992. He went to the Western Athletic Conference in
1995 and to the Mountain West Conference in 1999 where he works as a
Line Judge.In 2006 Gary became the
Supervisor of Officials for the Western Collegiate Football
Officials Association and assigns officials to Cal Poly and
U.C.Davis home games.
Gary has Officiated the 1996 Sun Bowl, 1998 Aloha
Bowl, 2000 Independence Bowl, 2001 Silicon Valley Bowl, 2002 BCA
Kickoff Classic, 2004 Alamo Bowl, 2007 Gator Bowl, and the 2008
Humanitarian Bowl.
Gary is a Construction Inspector and lives in San
Luis Obispo with his wife, Susan.
